OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

London-‐born award-‐winning producer, David Eberts, brings home surreal documentary about Canada’s would-‐be Chuck Norris October 1st, 2014, – Following its recent Fantastic Fest Win for Best Documentary and Slamdance Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary, Kung Fu Elliot will premiere in London at the Raindance Film Festival ’14 on October 3rd and 5th. Kung Fu Elliot tells the story of Elliot “White Lightning” Scott – a man determined to become Canada’s first action movie star – as he struggles to finish his latest martial arts epic, Blood Fight. With his supportive partner Linda Lum, and an outrageous cast of dreamers by his side, Elliot dives further and further into a world of make believe, testing the bounds of truth and friendship. Eberts is the son of celebrated Canadian producer and Co-‐founder of Goldcrest Films, Jake Eberts (Dances with Wolves, Driving Miss Daisy, Gandhi).

“The film feels like a mockumentary, but everything you are watching is real.” assures Co-‐Director Belliveau. “We stepped into a real-‐life drama.”

From Mitch Davis, Fantasia Co-‐Founder: “Directors Matthew Bauckman and Jaret Belliveau have made one of the great docs of 2014. It’s a very funny film, to be sure, a profoundly fascinating one too, but do know that it’s every bit as uncomfortable. You won’t be able to look away.” Eberts will be in attendance for the London premiere of Kung Fu Elliot on Fri, Oct 3rd and Sun, Oct 5th.
