the PEEP SHOW | Weekly Photo Challenge: Focus

My interpretation of the challenge FOCUS was to draw attention to something in particular. I used the Picasa focal setting to colour in part of the picture – in this case the crowd at the Holi festival of colours in London, and the looming derelict Battersea Power Station – it kind of looks like two worlds, two different pictures merged, but its all in the same moment.

This picture was taken during the long ascension up St Peter’s Basilica in Rome. The pathway as you can see is dark and narrow, and as I struggled to climb the above struck me as a ‘The light at the end of the tunnel’ moment…

  1. I’m really impressed with what you’ve done with the top photo. Is the Picasa a setting you have on your camera or some sort of software that you used after the fact?

    • Thanks so much; it’s a picasa setting. I chose the focal effect to just pull the colour from that point. Picasa is so easy and basic but a really great tool for photo editing.
