the UNCATEGORISED: Daily Prompt: I Want to Know What Love Is

by michelle w. on May 11, 2013

We each have many types of love relationships — parents, children, spouses, friends. And they’re not always with people; you may love an animal, or a place. Is there a single idea or definition that runs through all the varieties of “love”?

Love is just a word used to explain a subjective feeling. So how can people say its lost it’s meaning? Who can define what it is when it’s so personal? I don’t care if it’s overused in today’s world. What does that even mean? Why do we have to put so many limitations on it when it’s such a free feeling, it’s not tangible, it’s uncontrollable and undefinable. If we’re being pedantic, it’s also about feeling for something that you will never feel in the same way,I’m not talking about equal measures, I’m just stating fact. Because I will never be you and you will never be me.
So whatever love is no one has monopoly over what it isn’t, because that is its core essence. Love it just word, it’s meaning is open-ended, it’s feeling is subjective.
